How to make it

  • In a saucepan melt butter and add onions, green onions, celery and garlic. Add shrimp and cook until shrimp turn pink. With cooked seafood, crawfish,or crab add at the last 5 minutes. Add flour and stir in completely. Add about half the whole milk and half the cream. Let simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring often. Add more milk and cream to desired thickness. Add Worcestershire, clam juice, parsley, salt and white pepper to taste, cayenne if using, bay leaves, and chopped mushrooms. Let seasonings marry, over low heat, about 5 minutes. Stir well

    If you don't like the photo, please omit. I made this gravy with shrimp and LOVED it. I did cut down on the milk and cream because I was afraid to overcook the shrimp before the sauce was thick enough . . . although you DID say add liquid to each of our judgement =o) Thank you again for another GREAT recipe!

    Do you know how incredible this would be over your crab lasagna rolls??! I love this recipe and I have some awesome heavy cream that pours like pudding out of the jar from having a high cream content! Thank you so much for sharing =D
