Chicken In Gruyere Sauce
From carina 17 years agoIngredients
- 400 gr chicken, cubed shopping list
- 1 tsp. paprika shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
- 50 gr butter shopping list
- 1 onion, chopped shopping list
- 3 dl chicken stock shopping list
- 2 dl cream or creme fraiche shopping list
- 150 gr gruyere cheese, grated shopping list
- approx 2 tbsp cornflour shopping list
How to make it
- Sprinkle paprika, salt and pepper on the chicken and fry the chicken pieces in the butter until they start to brown.
- Add the onion and continue to fry for a few minutes.
- Add the stock and get it to a simmer. Then add the cream and cheese. Stir.
- When the cheese has melted use the cornflour to bind the sauce to your taste.
- You could now spread the sauce in an ovenproof dish and sprinkle on some extra cheese. Grill for a few minutes untill the cheese on top is nice and bubbly (longer if you store the sauce in the fridge). But just like it is it's also very nice.
- Serve over pasta. Good with either a green salad, tomatoes or my favourite: broccoli.
