- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- For Brownies:
- 12/3 C. granulated sugar
- 3/4 C. or(11/2 sticks) of butter or margarine, melted
- 2 Tablespoons of water
- 2 large eggs, or 1 jumbo egg
- 2 teaspoons. vanilla extract
- 11/3 C. all purpose flour
- 3/4 C. Nestle Toll House Unsweetened Baking Cocoa(or any one you'd like)
- 1/2 teaspoon. baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 C. chopped nuts(optional)
- Powdered Sugar(optional)
- - Preheat oven to 350. Grease or 13X9 pan. Combine the first 3 ingrediants in a large bowl. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt, in a medium bowl. Stir in nuts, if desired. Spread into pan/ Bake for 18-25 min, oruntil wooden toothpick inserted in the center, comes out slightly sticky.
- Chocolate Lover's Frosting:
- 3 C. sifted powdered sugar(I never do that though, lol)
- 2/3C. cocoa
- 1/2 C.(or 1 stick) butter, softened (I melt it though)
- 5 to 6 Tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- - Beat 1 C. powdered sugar, all the cocoa, all the butter, 2 T. milk, and vanilla, in a small bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in remaining sugar and milk, until smooth.
- **Tips: I found that the frosting makes way to much for the brownies. Since, the brownies make 24 pieces, and the frosting makes 2 cups, I cut the frosting recipe in half because the first time I tried it, it was way to much frosting! And it was perfect. Heres the frosting recipe, cut in HALF:
- 11/2 C. Powdered Sugar
- 1/3 C. cocoa
- 1/4 C.(1/2 stick) of butter or margine, softened, or melted
- 3 T. Milk
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- -Beat 1/2 C. powdered sugar, all cocoa, all the butter, 1 T. milk, and all vanilla in a bowl. Beat until Creamy. Then, add another 1/2 C. powdered sugar and another 1 T. milk, until creamy. Then add the last 1/2C. of powdered sugar and last tablespoon of milk!
- Enjoy! :)
- ***I use Hershey's cocoa in the batter mix, and for the brownie mix! I think it tastes BETTER!
