Anniez Spicy Aji Verde Peruvian Green Chili Sauce
From ebonyeyedenigma 15 years agoIngredients
- 1/2 to 1 cup mayonnaise (It is like making pesto, start with basic portions and adjust to your taste.) shopping list
- 6 Cups Fresh Express Hearts of Romaine (10oz bag) shopping list
- 4 jalapeno peppers, seeds and veins removed in 2 of the Peppers (*** Or 2 jalapeno peppers, seeds and veins removed in 1 of the Peppers - based on your taste ***) shopping list
- 6 green onions shopping list
- 1 bunch of cilantro (stems and leaves) shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon kosher salt shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons garlic shopping list
How to make it
- Halve and de-seed 2 of the Jalapeno Peppers, chop the remaining 2 Peppers, leaving the seeds and veins.
- Chop everything you need to fit in the blender.
- In a blender, food processor or hand immersion blender combine all ingredients and blend thoroughly until smooth. Should be well blended but not runny.
- Add more mayonnaise for creaminess, if the sauce apprears too thick - it should be thick but still pourable consistency and will come out light green in color with darker green flecks.
- Put in a squeeze bottle, or glass container and store in the refrigerator. This stuff is awesome but very perishable, so I would use it within 5 days; it never lasts long in my home.
