How to make it

  • Properly clean conch by washing in lime, salt and water.
  • Pound until meat is shredded.
  • Mix eggs, dip conch, and roll in flour.
  • Fry on both sides until golden brown.

    Thanks for this post. I've never made this but I sailed in the Carib for a while, many years ago and some version of this was everywhere. It is delicious but we occasionally got a tough batch because they didn't pound it enough. Out here I'll have to use giant clams, which aren't the same but as close as I can get. Thanks again.

    My husband an I have eaten conch in St. Thomas. V.I.
    I found it really rich. .. in the way it was prepared. Good
    but rich taste. You are right on a true Island Treat..
    Really would Love to try your Recipe!! Just don't have Conch
    in South Louisiana...lol
