How to make it

  • In a bowl combine milk eggs and veg. oil.
  • stir in the rest of the ingredients.
  • Heat a lightly oiled pan over med to med high heat (may want to turn down on second batch so you don't burn them). Pour about 1/4 of the batter for each pancake and brown on both sides. Serve with your favorite syrup and a dab of butter. These are also just as great served with just butter! Enjoy!
  • * If you like thinner pancakes just add more milk to your liking.
  • **For even thicker pancakes let the batter sit for about 5 minutes before cooking and it will thicken up more.
  • *** This recipe makes 4 descent size pancakes...if you are big breakfast eaters definitely double the recipe for 4 people.

Finally - a pancake with some flavor to it. Just enough, too, and not overpowering. Mine were fluffy! I got four pancakes. Had two for lunch and will freeze the other two. Added some more to pso's thread and a couple of pictures to the recipe. 4/12/15

Made these again. Finding out to keep the temperature as high as possible without going into the burn stage to make the cakes rise better. A light golden brown color leaves the edges of the cakes tapered. A darker brown color makes the cakes rise straight up on the edges. Nice and fluffy. So monitor your heat closely.

Used Light Karo syrup and Honey this time.

Made these again. Used up partial bottles of artificially flavored maple syrup, orange marmalade, and mango chutney.

    Yeah baby! :P

Thanks for a great recipe! I made these for snacks for Joy School today and they were a big hit. I made small cakes and served with butter and powdered sugar. I might make another batch for the older kids when they get home from school.
The only thing I changed was to add a tsp aof vanilla.

Two of my favorite flavors, cinnamon and nutmeg. I'm going to make these tomorrow for my family as a wonderful surprise.

My husband likes the "thick and fluffy" pancakes (I was raised in a Swedish household, so I'm used to the more crepe-like Swedish pancakes) - he will love these, I'm sure, and so will I. Your picture is mouth-watering! I will hope to get a batch made this weekend. Thanks!
