Music Lovers Birthday Mini Guitar Cake

- CAKE: shopping list
- 170 gm. butter,soft shopping list
- 170 gm. castor sugar shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 2 tsp vanilla essence shopping list
- 170 gm. cake flour shopping list
- 4 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 3 tbsp milk shopping list
- Cream: shopping list
- 1000 ml. fresh cream shopping list
- icing sugar,to taste shopping list
- GANACHE: shopping list
- 1/2 cup cream shopping list
- 75 gm chocolate,chopped shopping list
- SUGAR SYRUP: shopping list
- 1/2 cup icing sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup hot water shopping list
- white chocolate FUDGE: shopping list
- 1 oz / 25 gm white chocolate,chopped shopping list
- 1 oz / 25 gm soft butter shopping list
How to make it
- BODY:
- Heat oven at 180 C.Grease and line 10 1/2" x 7" rectangular pan.
- Sift flour and baking powder together.
- Beat butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time and continue beating until thick and creamy.
- Add vanilla and milk,beat again to mix.
- Gradually add flour to the butter mixture and beat until smooth.
- Pour the mixture in the prepared pan.
- Bake on 180 C for 30-35 minutes or till cake is done.
- Turn cake on wire rack and leave to cool completely.
- Using a marker/paper stencil,draw the outline of the guitar's body onto cake, and cut out.
- Cut into two layers.
- NECK:
- Make another batter using the above cake recipe.
- Pour half batter in 6" x 3" rectangular pan.Use remaining batter to make cupcakes.
- Bake and cool completely.
- Cut into two layers.
- WHITE CHOCOLATE FUDGE:
- Microwave chocolate and butter in a bowl on high for a minute.Stir until chocolate is completely melted.
- Leave to cool at room temperature (or chill for 5-10 min.).
- Whisk the mixture until it is thickened.
- ICING:
- Using an electric mixer,whip the cream with icing sugar.
- Beat on medium-high speed until peaks form.
- Transfer 1/4 cup cream to a bowl,add cocoa powder.
- Put the cocoa cream in a piping bag to draw the outline of guitar cake.
- ganache:
- Place the chopped chocolate in a bowl.Keep aside.
- Heat the cream in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Bring just to a boil.
- Immediately pour the boiling cream over the chocolate and allow to stand for 2 minutes.
- Stir with a fork until dissolve and smooth.
- Leave to room temperature for an hour until cool.
- Refrigerate for 1/2 an hour.
- Take out and whisk until thick and spreadable.
- ASSEMBLE:
- On serving platter,place one cake layer of both cakes(attach cake pieces with cream Icing).
- Sprinkle sugar syrup(if using).
- Spoon whipped cream over,top with the second layer.
- Cover entire cake with icing.
- Spread ganache to cover the neck of the cake,also for making soundhole and saddle.
- Pipe white chocolate fudge to draw strings,frets and to make knobs.
- Pipe cocoa cream along edge of guitar for an outline.
- Spread icing/white chocolate fudge on cupcakes.
- Draw musical notes with remaining ganache.
