Best Ever Banana Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting Recipezaar

Very yummy banana Cake. bakes in a low oven for about an hour. Here's what was written: baking time may vary. some have stated it took an hour 10 min. hour 20 min. and It took an hour and half in my oven.
Ingredients
- 1- 9x13 baking pan or 2 round shopping list
- 11/2 c.banana (ripe) mashed shopping list
- 2 teas. lemon juice shopping list
- 3 c. flour shopping list
- 11/2 teas.baking soda shopping list
- 1/4 teas. salt shopping list
- 3/4 c. butter, softened shopping list
- 21/8 c. sugar shopping list
- 3 lg. eggs shopping list
- 2 teas. vanilla shopping list
- 11/2 c. buttermilk shopping list
- 1/2 c. butter, softened shopping list
- 1 - 8 oz. pkg. of cream cheese , softened shopping list
- 1 teas.vanilla shopping list
- 31/2 c. icing sugar (powder sugar) shopping list
- GARNISH: shopping list
- chopped walnuts shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 275 Degrees
- Grease & flour pans
- In a small bowl,mix mashed banana with lemon juice; set aside
- In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking soda,& salt; set aside
- In a large bowl,cream 3/4 c. butter & 21/8 c. sugar until light and fluffy
- Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, then stir in 2 teas. vanilla
- Beat in the flour mixture alternately with buttermilk
- Stir in banana mixture
- Pour batter into prepared pans & bake in preheated oven for about 1 hour or until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean
- Remove from oven & place directly into freezer for 45 minutes. This will make cake very moist
- For the frosting, cream the butter and cream cheese until smooth
- Beat in 1 teas. vanilla
- Add powder sugar and beat on low speed until combined, then on high speed until frosting is smooth
- Spread on cooled cake
- Sprinkle with chopped walnuts over top if desired

I was the one in the family that would hog a cake like this. I love these and desire them so much I will bake this this weekend if not sooner.
