How to make it

  • In a large kettle, melt butter.
  • Add flour; cook and stir until bubbly.
  • Gradually add broth.
  • Add the next 12 ingredients; bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat; add milk.
  • Remove bay leaves. and serve warm

    Boy, this IS different, but I'm willing to try this! My parents always used to caution us kids on the pickle and milk combo. They said it could upset the stomach, but I guesse it's fine if you cook it.

    Well, I do love dill pickles (especially MN Gedney baby dills!), so I'm gonna have to try this most unusual soup - how about a side of those delicious Old Dutch Dill Pickle potato chips with this?!? Yum!
