Pizza Dumpling Bake

- 1 lb lean ground beef shopping list
- 1 large onion - chopped shopping list
- 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz) shopping list
- 1 can tomato paste (6 oz) shopping list
- 3/4 cup water shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp dried oregano shopping list
- 3/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp dried rosemary - crushed shopping list
- 1/4 tsp pepper shopping list
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese shopping list
- 8 oz frozen Italian-style vegetables - thawed shopping list
- 1 pkg refrigerator dinner roll dough shopping list
- 1 egg white shopping list
- 2 tsps water shopping list
- Freshly grated parmesan cheese - optional shopping list
How to make it
- Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees
- Coat 13x9 inch baking pan with non-stick spray
- Place beef & onion into a large skillet, breaking up the meat & cook over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink & the onion is softened. - about 15 mins
- Drain fat
- Add the tomato sauce & paste, water, 1 tsp of the oregano, salt, rosemary & pepper
- Bring to a boil & then reduce to med/low heat, cover, stirring occasionally, for about 15 mins or until well blended & slightly thickened
- Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese over the beef mixture
- Spoon the mixed vegetables over the cheese
- Top with the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese
- Separate the dinner rolls & cut each in half horizontally to make 16 halves
- Arrange over the cheese
- In a small cup, beat together the egg white & the 2 tsps water & brush over the rolls
- Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 tsp of oregano
- Bake for 20 mins or until the rolls are golden brown
- Serve sprinkled with the parmesan cheese if using
