Red Snapper Soup

- 1 1/2 to 2 lbs red snapper fillet, cut in chunks shopping list
- 1 can whole tomatoes ( 28 oz ) cut up with liquids shopping list
- 1 large onion chopped shopping list
- 10 ounce package frozen cut okra unthawed shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions shopping list
- 1 cup beef broth shopping list
- or shopping list
- 1 cup water and 2 Tbs. beef bouillon paste shopping list
- 1/4 cup sherry or vermouth shopping list
- salt, pepper, shopping list
- fresh thyme for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- Red snapper can be an expensive fish so try to buy it on sale.
- The soup is stew like and has wonderful flavor.
- We make it for special occasions.
- Recipe may be made in a slow cooker cooked on high for several hours or in a simmered in a stockpot .
- Simply combine all and cover and cook.
- Garnish soup bowls with fresh thyme.
