Great recipe for classic tea cookies — these did not come out like the Archway Cashew Nougats, which are not doughy and have a texture more like confectioners sugar than a cookie. A cashew nougat purist will need a different recipe— but these are great cookies nonetheless, thank you!

Sadly, CBS News reported that Archway has filed for bankruptcy & production has stopped. I've seen several "copycat" recipes, so I'm going to play around with them to see if I can get close to those magnificent Archway Cashew Nougats.

I actually make this recipe all the time for Christmas - we call it Russian Cookies and most of the time I use walnuts - I tried it with hazelnuts and almonds, too. Excellent recipe - it has such a great nutty - buttery flavor!

This is one of my favorite Christmas cookies. And one of the few that I bought instead of baked. Thanks for posting this recipe!
