Blond Brownies a la Mode

- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) softened real butter shopping list
- 2 cups packed light brown sugar shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract shopping list
- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans shopping list
- MAPLE CREAM SAUCE: shopping list
- 1 cup maple syrup shopping list
- 2 tablespoons real butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk shopping list
- vanilla ice cream shopping list
- additional chopped pecans for garnishing shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare 9 x 13-inch baking pan by spraying with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, using electric mixer, cream softened butter and brown sugar.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Beat in vanilla.
- In small mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add flour mixture to creamed mixture in large mixing bowl.
- By hand, stir in chopped pecans.
- Spread evenly in prepared pan.
- Bake in preheated 350-degree oven for approximately 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and cool slightly while making maple cream sauce.
- FOR SAUCE:
- Combine maple syrup and butter in medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cook and stir while continuing to boil for three minutes.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in evaporated milk.
- Cut brownies into squares.
- Place on dessert plates and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Drizzle maple cream sauce over top of ice cream and brownies.
- Sprinkle with additional chopped pecans if desired!
