Red sauce for chinese chicken balls

- 2 cups water shopping list
- 3/4 cup Heinz ketchup shopping list
- 3/4 cup white sugar shopping list
- 3 tbsps (red) grenadine shopping list
- 3 tbsps cornstarch shopping list
- 1/4 cup water shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the first 4 ingredients in a saucepan on top of the stove and cook on medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes. In the meantime, mix 3 tbsps of cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water and add to the other ingredients to thicken the sauce. Cook until thickened.
- Serve with Chinese chicken balls.

I tried this recipe followed it exactly and and was disappointing, it tasted awful nothing at all like the red chicken sauce, it tasted like watered down ketchup with sugar
