Gingerbread Cake

- 1/2 cup white sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup molasses shopping list
- 1/2 cup bacon drippings shopping list
- 1/2 cup boiling water shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. soda shopping list
- 1 tsp. ginger shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. cloves shopping list
- pinch salt shopping list
How to make it
- Place sugar in one cup measure, fill cup with molasses. If your bacon fat is congealed, heat it in your microwave until it is liquid again. Place fat in one cup measure fill cup with boiling water. Pour fat mixture over molasses mixture. Add egg. Stir to combine ingredients.
- In a separate bowl mix together flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Add to molasses mixture. Mix well. Pour into square pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Serve warm.
