The Monkey Munch recipe from "Jon & Kate Plus 8". Also known as Chex Mix Puppy Chow, it's a not-very good for you treat that kids enjoy making as well as eating--a good one for starting out in the kitchen.
Ingredients
- 9 cups Chex cereal, any variety shopping list
- 1 cup chocolate chips shopping list
- 1/2 cup peanut butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Put cereal in large bowl.
- Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Pour over Chex cereal, put into a large plastic bag with powdered sugar and shake well to coat.
- Spread mixture evenly on wax paper or in cupcake liners and allow to cool. Store at room temperature. Keeps 2-3 days.
