Bettys Butterscotch Brownies

These are rich and chewy and delicious!!! I got the recipe from my mom's old Betty Crocker Cooky Book. Sinful!!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1 cup light brown sugar (packed) shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 3/4 cup flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until well blended; cool.
- Stir in egg.
- Measure flour and then stir baking powder, salt, and flour together; blend in.
- Mix in vanilla and walnuts.
- Spread in a well-greased square pan.
- Bake 25 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE!
- Cut into bars while warm.
