- 8 eggs shopping list
- 1 pint heavy cream shopping list
- 3 cups sugar shopping list
- 3 cups self-rising flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla, or 1 teaspoon almond, or 1 teaspoon lemon shopping list
- *TO MAKE A LAYER cake, THIS cake MAY BE HALVED AND COOKED IN 2 cake PANS shopping list
- COOKING TIME WILL NOT BE AS LONG, ONLY ABOUT 25 MINUTES shopping list
How to make it
- With an electric mixer, in large bowl, beat all 8 eggs for 5 minutes
- Add heavy cream slowly, beating another 5 minutes
- Add sugar, beat to mix
- Add flour, mix on low until blended
- Add your choice of flavoring
- Pour into a greased and lightly floured tube pan
- Bake at 300 for about 1 hour and 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean
- Remove from oven, let cool on wire rack for 10 minutes
- Turn out onto cake plate
- May frost with favorite icing, or serve with fresh strawberries and whipped cream
