The prefix "SHISH" comes from the Arabic word "Sikh" which means "Skewer. Shishlik is traditionally made of lamb but you can use Chicken,Turkey, Beef or any other type of meat.When the Bedouin recieve a guest, they Slaughter a lamb in his honour and this is the quickest method of preparing the meat. Read more They must not allow their guests to go hungry.Shishlick is traditionally served with Majadera, (See my recipe). This method of grilling will ensure that the meat is "just right" without drying out. Best on a charcoal fire but any conventional BBQ is also OK. Ingredients
- Any kind of meat or poultry shopping list
- skewers for grilling shopping list
- A few healthy appettites shopping list
- Some great friends shopping list
How to make it
- Cut the meat into 2" cubes
- Put about 5 cubes on each skewer. (only one type of meat per skewer)
- Place on BBQ mesh
- Breathe in deeply to enjoy the full aroma
- Chase away stray cats
- After about 2 minutes turn skewers over
- Chase away cats again
- Grill on all sides
- Remove from coals and wait for compliments
- OH! Those darn cats!
- Suggestion: Add a few stalks of Rosemary or some Citrus peels to the coals for that extra aroma

Shishkabob is one of my favorite grilling dishes. I like the idea of charcoal grilling the meat. It lends itself to lots of dipping sauces and side dishes. Thank you for a wonderful post
