Arabic Honey Cake

- cake shopping list
- 1/3 cup butter shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour, all-purpose plus 1 tbl shopping list
- Topping shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup honey shopping list
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Butter a 10" pan. Add greased wax paper ( so it won't stick )
- Preheat the oven to 400F.
- Beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla until it whittens. Add the melted butter and mix well.
- Sift the flour and BP. and add to the previous mixture, mix gently.
- Pour in the prepared pan and bake 10-12 min.
- Meanwhile prepare the topping.
- Melt the butter on med heat. Add the rest of the ingred. and bring to a boil stirring constantly.
- Pour the topping gently on the cake and return it to the oven for another 15-20 min.
- I cooled mine for 15 mis and then carefully removed and reinverted.
- Note: in my oven cake took about 5 minutes less with each step for baking
- it's a thin cake and perhaps a 9 inch pan may also be used.
- Watch carefully as it bakes after topping applied so it won't burn!
