Amish Cucumber Salad Recipe

Ingredients

How to make it

  • Place cucumbers in a strainer and let sit for an hour or so
  • Mix sugar, vinegar, and mayo together
  • Put cucumbers and onions in bowl
  • Add dressing and blend
  • Chill

    if the mayonaise didnt put the sour cream is tat ok?

    I made this a month ago when it was first posted in the "IMI" group but it's been sitting in the fridge all this time because of my sore gum. A few small samples didn't detect any off flavors so I ate it. Sure hope all that vinegar had a pickling effect on the dish. Wish me luck!

    I made it just as is but halved the recipe. Oh and woops forgot to pull it out for dinner when I made it...oh well, I got to eat it all! lol

    This was very good! I used yellow onions instead of red because thats what I had on hand. I went with the sour cream! It was perfect! This salad has such a refreshing, clean flavor to it! Simple and delicious! I added my photo:)

    I have been eating this since I was a teenager, I add a couple slices of red ripe tomatoes and its a perfect lunch for me in the summertime. Thanks for reminding me of this, it is so tasty.

    I like it but I'm not the biggest fan of mayo. I will use Greek yogurt (like Fage brand) which has a creamy consisitency. Great post!

    I'm going to try it with half yogurt and half sour cream My co worker has issues with Mayo and she loves yogurt, I think this will be something I can share with her. Thanks for posting it.
