Raw Apple Cake With Rum Topping

- ½ cup shortening shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 2 cups raw, peeled and grated apple shopping list
- 2 cups sifted flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking soda shopping list
- ½ teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- ½ cup chopped walnuts shopping list
- ******* shopping list
- rum Topping shopping list
- ½ cup butter shopping list
- ½ cup heavy cream shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1 tablespoon rum shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cream the shortening and sugar together thoroughly. Add
- the remaining cake ingredients, mixing well. Pour into a
- 9x13-inch cake pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
- To make topping, heat butter, cream and sugar together
- until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the vanilla and rum.
- Cut apple cake into squares and serve with hot Rum Topping.
