Garlicy Smashed Potatoes

- 5 lb. bag red new potatoes shopping list
- 3 cloves of fresh garlic minced or 1 lg. tablespoon prepared minced garlic shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- Splash of milk or half and half shopping list
- butter or margarine shopping list
- Chopped chives (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Scrub potatoes but leave peelings on.
- Boil in water to cover until tender.
- Drain and add minced garlic, butter, salt and pepper and milk or half and half.
- Mash until desired smoothness. (My daughter always wants lumps in her mashed potatoes to be sure they are not the powdered kind!)
- Sprinkle with chopped chives if desired.
- Serve with the Pesto Chicken Breast and enjoy.

Great recipe! I love mashed potatoes prepared this way! My nephew was in charge of the potatoes for Christmas Eve and this is exactly how he made them. He prefers margarine but when I make them I like butter and only butter ;-) Cheers!!!
