Good Ole Southern Frogmore Stew

- 3 quarts water shopping list
- 1 lemon, halved shopping list
- 1 medium onion, halved shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed shopping list
- coarse salt to taste shopping list
- 1 (3 ounce) package dry crab boil shopping list
- 1 1/2 pounds medium red potatoes, scrubbed shopping list
- 1 pound smoked sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces shopping list
- 4 ears fresh corn, shucked and broken in half shopping list
- 1 1/2 pounds unpeeled, large fresh shrimp shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter, melted shopping list
How to make it
- Bring the water to a boil in a very large pot. Squeeze the lemon juice into the water, then throw in the halves. Add the onion, garlic, salt and crab boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Add the potatoes and sausage; cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Add the corn and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the shrimp. Let sit covered for 5 minutes or until shrimp are pink. Drain, and serve with melted butter for dipping. Broth may be reserved and reused for cooking rice or other soups.

It is good, we do ours outside in one of those Turkey fryers, then you put newspaper down on your outside table and dump the goodies on it, no mess inside - just roll up the newspaper when your finished and through it away. Great post.

Oh yeah it's southern... we take credit for all that is good!
We do this alot in the summer for pool parties.. Line the table with layers of newspaper and small bowls of melted butter, which here in the summer stays melted! Dinner is served! ...morelinebb956 in La Feria loved it
