Yeast Paraoa Parai
From My_Kai 4 years agoIngredients
- 1 teaspoon Active Yeast shopping list
- 1 teaspoon White Sugar (Optional) shopping list
- 3 1/4 cups Warm Water (Not Hot) shopping list
- 6 cups Sifted Plain Flour or High Grade shopping list
- Approx: Canola Oil or Vegetable Shortening, enough for frying shopping list
How to make it
- Step 1: Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water, place in a warm spot for about 10 minutes, it should foam up.
- Step 2: Sift, flour into a large bowl. Once the yeast mixture is ready combine with flour until it comes together. Place onto a floured surface and lightly knead, I usually knead for approx 5 minutes. Place the kneaded dough into a bowl, cover with a towel and place it in a warm spot until it has doubled in size.
- Step 3: Heat Oil or Vegetable Shortening in a deep saucepan on the stove (I use a wok), Once the dough has doubled in size I then give it another quick knead then roll it out onto a floured surface then cut into sections.
- Step 4: The Oil should be at the desired temperature (stick a wooden spoon handle into the hot oil, it should start bubbling rapidly it's ready). Place the dough carefully into the oil (I cook it for 2-3 minutes on both sides). Place onto paper towel then repeat.
- Hope you enjoy
