- 1 lb Italian sausage shopping list
- ½ yellow onion shopping list
- 2 cloves of garlic shopping list
- 28 oz can of tomatoes (diced) shopping list
- 6 oz can of tomato paste shopping list
- 2 6.5-oz cans of tomato sauce shopping list
- 12-15 lasagna noodles (no-boil) shopping list
- 16 oz ricotta shopping list
- 12 oz mozzarella shopping list
- ¾ c Parmesan shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1½ t basil shopping list
- ½ t fennel seeds shopping list
- 1 t oregano shopping list
- 2 t parsley shopping list
- olive oil shopping list
- black pepper shopping list
- salt shopping list
How to make it
- 1 Crumble and cook the sausage in a little oil until browned, about 5 min.
- 2 Chop the onion and mince the garlic, and cook along with the sausage until soft, about 5 min.
- 3 Stir in the tomato products and seasonings. Simmer, covered, for at least 30 min.
- 4 Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- 5 Combine the ricotta, egg and parsley, and season to taste.
- 6 Spread a spoonful of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Build with three repeating layers: lasagna noodles, ricotta blend, meat sauce and shredded cheeses.
- 7 Cover with foil and bake for 25 min, then remove foil and bake uncovered another 25 min. Let cool for at least 10 min to set.
