Au Jus Without Drippings

- olive oil, just enough to saute (I think one Tbs would be plenty) shopping list
- 1/4 cup red onion, chopped shopping list
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced (I used jarred) shopping list
- 1/8 cup white wine (which is 2 Tbs) shopping list
- 1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups of beef broth shopping list
- 1 tsp flour (optional - I did not use this) shopping list
How to make it
- Saute the onions in a small amount of olive oil for a couple of minutes. Add garlic and cook for a minute or two more See Photo. Deglaze the pot with white wine, then add Worcestershire sauce and cook for another minute, stirring constantly. See Photo
- Add beef broth and bring to a light boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes.
- Strain broth and then return it to pot See Photo. Add flour, if using, and simmer an additional 5 minutes.
