Val's Spicy Beef Stroganoff

- 2 Tbs. butter shopping list
- 1 1/2 # sirloin, sliced into 1/2 X 1/2 X 3" strips shopping list
- 2 onions, sliced thin shopping list
- 1 # mushrooms, sliced thin shopping list
- 2 C. canned beef broth shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. cayanne pepper shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper shopping list
- 1 1/4 tsp. nutmeg shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. basil shopping list
- 2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 Tbs. cornstarch shopping list
- 1/4 C. water shopping list
- 2/3 C. sour cream shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried parsley shopping list
- buttered noodles shopping list
How to make it
- In large skillet, melt butter over high heat and brown beef.
- Add onions and cook over medium heat until soft.
- Add mushrooms, broth, cayanne, black pepper, nutmeg, basil, and salt.
- Simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 45 min. and liquid is reduced to 1/2 cup.
- Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into beef.
- Simmer, stirring, one minute.
- Remove from heat and add sour cream.
- Serve over noodles.
