- Ingredients: shopping list
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, left at room temp for at least 30 minutes to soften a little shopping list
- 2 whole eggs (large) shopping list
- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon molasses, honey, or maple syrup shopping list
- 1 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 cup cake flour shopping list
- 3/4 cup mixture of nuts of your choice, coarsely chopped shopping list
- 3/4 cup mixture of dried fruits of your choice, coarsely chopped shopping list
- 1/4 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons breadcrumbs shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F or 150-175 degrees C (i baked mine
- at 150 degrees C).
- 2. Line a 9x13 inch pan with wax paper. Set aside.
- 3. Cream butter, sugar & molasses together using a mixer. Beat in
- eggs one at a time. Set aside.
- 4. In another stainless steel mixing bowl, mix together flours, baking
- powder, baking soda, cinnamon, & breadcrumbs.
- 5. Mix dry ingredients, dried fruits, & nuts to butter mixture until you do
- not see streaks of flours anymore BUT
- avoid overmixing!
- 6. Spread batter to prepared baking pan & bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
- *If top of batter browns very fast cover with foil.
- 7. Cake is done when a clean toothpick inserted in the middle comes
- out clean.
- 8. Cool in pan for 10 minutes then invert on a tray.
- 9. Cut into squares when completely cool.
