Croatian Pork Crisps (“cvarci”)

- 1300 g pork bacon (“light” bacon, white bacon, no skin) shopping list
- 10 g onion (1 whole onion) shopping list
- 0,1 dl milk (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Cut the bacon in cubes approximately 2 cm large.
- Put it in a large pot and fry it until bacon melts.
- When you see “cvarci” became yellow in color and start to chirp put the whole onion in it and let it fry not more than 3 minutes.
- Before taking them out add milk and fry until they become gold (optional – otherwise cvarci will be grayish).
- Drain “cvarci” and save the liquid fat in a pot. You can use it for preparing food (actually, this is lard, but homemade and excellent)
