Best Hot Chocolate

- 2 cans ( 13.5 oz each ) coconut milk shopping list
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- dash salt shopping list
- 2 Tbs unsweetened cocoa powder ( I use Dutch processed ) shopping list
- 1 oz bittersweet chocolate finely chopped- about 1/4 cup shopping list
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract shopping list
- Optional: whipped cream,sweetened flaked cocoa, chocolate shavings shopping list
How to make it
- To a saucepan place the liquid of choice, sugar and salt and heat over medium heat
- Whisk to dissolve sugar
- Add milk and bring to a simmer
- Reduce heat and add the cocoa powder and bittersweet chocolate
- Cook and whisk constantly until mixture is smooth and thick ( I cooked it less than 5 minutes until smooth but not thick )
- Stir in vanilla
- Divide into glasses and garnish as desired
- Enjoy- oh boy!
