American Shepherd's Pie

- 1lb. ground beef shopping list
- 1 medium onion, chopped shopping list
- 2cups hot mashed potatoes (real or instant) shopping list
- 4oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) cream cheese, cubed shopping list
- 1cup Shredded cheddar cheese, divided shopping list
- 2cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 4cups frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn and green beans), thawed or canned mixed vegetables shopping list
- 1cup beef gravy shopping list
- Salt&pepper shopping list
- A little bit of beef bouillon shopping list
How to make it
- HEAT oven to 375ºF.
- BROWN meat and Onion in large skillet; drain.
- COMBINE Vegetables and gravy with meat& onion
- STIR in a little bit of beef bouillon (maybe a tsp) at a time until desired taste.
- SPOON meat mixture into 9-inch square baking dish.
- MIX potatoes, cream cheese, 1/2 cup Cheddar and garlic until blended.
- COVER meat with potato mixture and remaining Cheddar.
- BAKE 20 min. or until heated through.

- Save 70 calories and 9g of fat, including 5g of saturated fat, per serving by preparing with extra-lean ground beef, PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese and 2% Milk Shredded Cheddar Cheese.
- BARBECUE SHEPHERD'S PIE
- Prepare as directed, omitting the garlic and substituting 3/4 cup Barbecue Sauce mixed with 1/2 tsp. onion powder for the gravy.
- NOTE
- If using instant mashed potatoes, omit the milk when preparing the potatoes.
