Platanos Maduros Dulces Al Caldero(sweet Plantains)

- 3-4 Very Ripe plantains shopping list
- 2 tbsp. whole cloves shopping list
- 1 tbsp butter(optional) shopping list
- 2 tbsp of oil shopping list
- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar + 1 tsp shopping list
- 3/4 cup of water shopping list
- 1 cinnamon stick shopping list
How to make it
- Peel Plantains and slice into 1/2 rounds diagonally
- On each side of the cut plantains stick a whole clove, set aside
- In a frying pan over medium heat add the oil.
- To the hot oil add a tsp of sugar.
- One the sugar caramelizes, immediately start adding the plantains & move around in the oil and sugar .
- Fry each side until golden brown.
- When plantains are cooked, leave in frying pan, lower the heat and add the cinnamon stick.
- Mix the water and the sugar and pour this over the plantains
- Cook for 6-7 minutes until the sugar has turned an amber color and is thick and gooey like syrup.
- Do not let this dish get dried out because the sugar will get sticky and hard.
- Serve Immediately See Photo
