Meat Sambousek

- For the dough: shopping list
- 3 cups flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking seasonings, yeast, fennel seeds and poppy seeds shopping list
- For the filling: shopping list
- 1/2 kg ground beef shopping list
- 2 onions, grated shopping list
- 1 teaspoon black pepper shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
- vegetable oil for frying shopping list
How to make it
- 1. To prepare the dough, mix the flour with the baking seasonings and a pinch of salt.
- 2. Pour the vegetable oil gradually while kneading the ingredients by hand. Add a little water in order for the dough to become firm.
- 3. Divide the dough into small balls, then cover and leave to rise in a warm place for a minimum of 1 hour.
- 4. For the filling, mix the meat, onions, black pepper and cumin in a skillet. Add salt and cook over low heat until the meat is well cooked. Set the filling aside to cool.
- 5. Flatten the dough balls in the form of thin circles, and place in the center of each 1 tablespoon of filling then close the dough in the form of semi a circle. Roll and pinch the edges to give the sambousek a beautiful shape.
- 6. Fry the sambousek in hot oil until it turns golden from both sides. Serve hot.
