Hot Dog Reuben Casserole

Hot Dogs have come a long way since their inception. It used to be that we didn’t know, or didn’t want to know how they were made. This casserole was made with “Black Angus Beef” Hot Dogs, made with no by-products, but you could just as easily use Turkey Dogs, or what ever hot dog may be your personal favorite
Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup thousand island dressing shopping list
- 1/2 Cup sour cream shopping list
- 2 Tbs. Finely Chopped onion shopping list
- 2 Cups rye bread, Cubed shopping list
- 1 Cup sauerkraut, Drained shopping list
- 5 hot dogs Cut Into Small Bite-size Pieces shopping list
- 1 1/2 Cups Shredded swiss cheese shopping list
- 2 Tbs. Melted butter shopping list
- ¼ tsp. pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the Thousand Island dressing, sour cream, onion, sauerkraut, hot dogs, 1 Cup of the Swiss cheese, and pepper.
- Gently incorporate the rye bread into the mixture.
- Place the mixture in a greased casserole dish, and top with the remaining ½ cup of Swiss cheese.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned.

April 22/16 wow my family thought that this was a fantastic recipe. Made exactly as written. Fast and easy to pull together on a busy night. Will be making again.

May 5/16 Make this casserole again but sub the hot dogs with sausages and used a mixture of swiss, old cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. DH said that he enjoyed this with the sausages more than the hot dogs. Oh the sausages I have are more like a ki...more

I love it and so does my husband. I made it today for company and doubled the recipe. I used natural turkey hotdogs this time and I know it will be awesome.
