From underwoman 14 years agoIngredients
- 12 fresh eggs (I use free range, and local) shopping list
- 1& 1/2 cups white distilled vinegar shopping list
- 1& 1/2 cups water shopping list
- 10 cloves of fresh garlic, peeled and roughly cut into about 3 pieces each shopping list
- 1 small/medium onion (some folks use red onion for color, but I prefer the flavor of white onion), cut into medium size rings shopping list
- 1 tbsp whole black peppercorns shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
How to make it
- Hard boil your eggs on med/high heat for about 15-20 minutes
- While they're boiling, peel and slice your garlic and onion.
- In a big jar (I use a huge pickle jar) combine the water, vinegar, sugar, salt, peppercorns, garlic, and onions. Let it stand.
- Remove your eggs to a bowl of ice and water. Let them sit in it until they are cool.
- Peel the eggs and plop them into the mixture. Refrigerate for at least 5 days before serving.
