Country Style Steak and Gravy

- 2 lbs. cube steak shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- `/4 cup evaporated, whole or 2% milk shopping list
- 1/2 cup Chopped onion shopping list
- oil for frying shopping list
How to make it
- Cut steak into serving size pieces
- Salt and pepper each piece as desired
- Dredge meat in flour
- Place in skillet in hot oil
- Cook until browned on both sides
- Remove meat from skillet
- Add enough flour to make gravy
- Add onion
- Cook, stirring until flour has reached desired brown color
- Add water, stirring to mix well
- Add milk, stirring to combine
- Return meat to skillet with gravy and simmer for one hour.
