Herbal Salve
From tuilelaith 15 years agoIngredients
- 2 cups water shopping list
- (this ointment takes all day, but it is so worth it!!!) shopping list
- (Colloidal Silver, tea tree oil and vitamin e oil, add after the mixture is ready to put in jars) shopping list
- Aloe (I had a gel I added just before it finished, I do not remember I think it was like an 1/8 of a cup.) shopping list
- Witch Hazel (from a bottle at the store, added just before the removal from heat too!) shopping list
- (bee pollen, add to mixture just before you remove from the heat.) shopping list
- wheat germ oil, this just seems like a good add, it spoils quickly however so make sure and add enough vitamin oil shopping list
- It is also my intent to add kelp this time around. shopping list
- Also I will be using olive oil to reduce the tea into and beeswax in the end to thicken it up. shopping list
- I hope Vaseline does not have any healing properties I do not understand or know about! shopping list
- corn oil might also be good for this. must research shopping list
- ~ shopping list
- herbs TO CHECK INTO FOR USE: shopping list
- Grindelia ie: Curlycup Gumweed shopping list
- Urtica urens ie: nettle shopping list
- ~~~and a tablespoon of each herb ~~~ shopping list
- lavender (i used flowers last time, from wild flowers, but oil might work) shopping list
- Elder Flowers (found on road side) shopping list
- garlic (bought fresh at store) shopping list
- Golden Seal (dug out of the ground in the woods) shopping list
- Echinaacea (got from a neighbor's yard) shopping list
- Thistle (field of an old place I used to live) shopping list
- Slippery Elm Inner Bark Powder (bought this from wild clovers, it made things kind of slime-ie, but it goes away with the mixing in of other stuff!) shopping list
- sage (had) shopping list
- thyme (had) shopping list
- oregano (had) shopping list
- parsley (had) shopping list
- plantain (found in yard) shopping list
- Jewel Weed (found walking the trail, and I happen to know where some is right now, so I need to go get it!) shopping list
- burdock root (got out of a field at an organic farm) shopping list
- marigold (got from a friends garden, flower) shopping list
- marshmallow root (this I do remember, because I picked it on the side of the road off of I70) shopping list
- dandelion (root and leaves, picked this myself also) shopping list
- chickweed (? I kinda remember using this, was it for this one???) shopping list
- nettle (yes I picked this myself, then took 3 baths to quit itching from the nettle. Remember, if you plan on eating nettle, you must boil this for 10 minutes first in a thing of water. You must do this 3 times. Nettle is very good for you however it does protect itself. Wear long pants, long sleeves, gloves and keep hair out of face so you do not brush it out of the face with nettle covered hands, and NO open toed shoes!) shopping list
How to make it
- Tea, 2 cups water, add more if it seems to be going down to fast, I never boiled this just brought it to the point of boiling and turned the heat to that point for 2 hours
- Then I added the Vaseline and let it cook down, it took about 4 hours, with olive oil I think I will just keep the time and add the beeswax when I am ready to take off of the heat.

- This was kinda the color of the Vaseline, but had darker, almost black points in it. The tea that had not blended I assume. But it was so good, even killed posion ivy rash!

- When it was "done" I let it cool naturally on the counter. I stirred it every time I walked by to be sure that all of the good stuff stayed in the mixture together! I put it up the next morning. Dan got some, Linda got some and someone stole the rest that was in the medications cupboard, I assume after I let them use it and they saw how great it worked, sigh, people suck!

nettle is supposed to be good for arthritis and exema. Externally for arthritis and internally for the exema. Haven't tried it yet, but may be worth it with this salve. Thanks
