Super Crusty Char Grilled Steaks

- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp cornstarch shopping list
- 4 strip, rib eye or tenderloin steaks about 1 1/2 inches thick shopping list
- pepper shopping list
- Classic steak Sauce: ( optional ) shopping list
- 1/3 cup raisins shopping list
- 1/2 cup boiling water shopping list
- 1/4 cup ketsup shopping list
- 3 Tbs worchestershire sauce shopping list
- 2 Tbs Dijon mustard shopping list
- 2 Tbs white vinegar shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Chill the steaks
- mix salt and cornstarch together
- Pat steaks dry with paper towel and rub in salt and cornstarch mixture
- Arrange steaks on a wire rack placed on a baking sheet
- FREEZE STEAKS, 30 minutes up to 1 hour
- Grill steaks right from the freezer
- Season with pepper
- Grill covered over a hot fire until they are well browned and cooked, about 4 to 8 minutes per side
- Transfer to a plate
- Tent with foil
- let rest 5 minutes before serving
- Optional steak sauce: ( just like the bottled classic kind )
- Combine raisins in the boiling water and let sit 5 minutes until fully plumped
- Puree raisin mixture with remaining ingredients and blend until smooth
- Season with salt and pepper
- Makes 1 1/4 cups of steak sauce
- Note: raisins may seem unusual but add just enough sweetness to the sauce
